Our Church

Churches, like individuals, can be similar to one another and yet often draw us into relationship by their differences.  If you are wondering how By Grace is similar or different from other churches you’ve been to, or what church is like at all, let us introduce you to our community.

The people

If you were to join us for a Sunday gathering, you’d find yourself in the midst of about 100 people.  Our fellowship is just large enough that it’s easy to meet new folks, but not so big that you’ll feel lost in a sea of faces.  In general, we are a younger congregation, but a have wide mix of life situations and careers –  you might meet a school teacher or a shipyard worker, a website designer or a counselor, a sailor or an airman.  We desire to minister to people from all ages and stages of life.

The service

In general, our Sunday Gatherings include times of singing together, prayer, and a strong emphasis on the teaching and receiving of the Word. As far as dress is concerned, you will see people wearing a wide range of styles: dress shirt and tie, jeans and T-shirt, and everything in between – although the norm for most people would probably be considered “business casual.” Please see our Sunday Gatherings page for a better idea of the fellowship, worship, and teaching in our services.

Other Opportunities

  • Kingdom Groups are a place for families to gather together by area location beyond Sunday mornings for a time of fellowship, talking about the Word, prayer, and sharing our lives with one another.
  • Children’s Ministry is where we endeavor to see every child saturated with God’s Word, engaging their heart, mind, and will to treasure Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Mercy Ministry  seeks to serve men, women, and families across the Peninsula, meeting needs in our community while holding out the Word of Life.
